Regular Company: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Department: Information Technology Time Type: Full time Weekly Hours: 40 FTE: 1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: The Programmer Analyst will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining data-driven solutions that support value-based care initiatives. This role involves building interactive dashboards and analytical tools that align with organizational goals, departmental KPIs, provider performance metrics, and payor-specific quality measures. The ideal candidate will collaborate with clinical, operational, and financial teams to ensure data integrity, actionable insights, and strategic alignment.Design and implement data models and analytics to support value-based care programs, while building and maintaining interactive dashboards in tools like Power BI and Microsoft Fabric. Ensure dashboards deliver accurate insights on provider performance, departmental KPIs, and organizational goals. Create visualizations that inform clinical pathways, quality improvement initiatives, and payor negotiations. Collaborate with clinical, quality, payor relations, senior leadership, and IT teams to understand data needs, and work with IT, data governance, and compliance teams to ensure secure, accurate data handling. Provide end-user support for dashboard functionality, maintain data dictionaries for consistent interpretation, and assist with troubleshooting Clinical Pathways software outages across RPCN sites. Starting annual salary is $78,126. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience
1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, management information systems or a related field; or
2. Associates degree in computer science, engineering, data science, management information systems or a related field and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time software development experience; or
3. High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma with a diploma or certificate in a computer science, or related field and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time software development experience.
NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
Relational database experience (MySQL, MariaDB or MS SQL Server) is required. Candidate must be able to develop complex data queries in SQL with minimal guidance. The candidate must also have experience with the Microsoft Fabric platform or Power BI, Data Flows, and Semantic Models. Heavy understanding of clinical, hospital workflows required. Familiarity with healthcare data exchange standards (HL7, FHIR, ICD, CPT, etc) is advantageous. Must have excellent communication and analytical skills. Required experience working with subject matter experts to gather requirements, test, and maintain data sets, reports and dashboards. Preferred candidates would have experience developing with PHP and providing tier 3
application support.
