Title: Supervising Pharmacy Technician I

Regular Company: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Department: Pharmacy Time Type: Full time Weekly Hours: 40 FTE: 1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: Supervises all specified technical aspects of pharmacy including assistance with orientation, continuing education, competency assessment of technicians and pharmacy interns. Ensures high standards of care, thorough proper didactic and practical applications, as well as comprehensive knowledge and skill-based training requirements, under the supervision of the Executive Director of Pharmacy Operations. Assesses, plans, and evaluates educational programs and services required for all levels of technician and intern staff to meet role expectations. A major focus of this position is the facilitation and implementation of orientation and skill development activities as well as facilitating continuing education. Demonstrates and maintains competencies defined in pharmacy technician responsibilities for providing safe and effective sterile and non-sterile preparations as well as processing of drug distribution and dispensing necessary for the organization. Supervises all pharmacy technicians in the performance of all technician related job functions on a daily basis; manages all pharmacy technician issues as they relate to the operation of the department of pharmacy for both inpatient and outpatient operations.

Starting salary for this position is $59,787 which includes a comprehensive benefits package. The listed pay range reflects the range of potential compensation for this role. The actual offer may vary based on qualifications, skills, and experience. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience

Certification Requirement
1. Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (cPhT) from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
2. ASHP Sterile Product Preparation Certificate to achieve PTCB Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT) board certification within 24 months of employment.

Education and Experience
High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma, two (2) years of full-time Pharmacy Technician experience in a hospital or healthcare organization that prepares intravenous sterile products.

Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will have supervisory and chemotherapy compounding experience. They will know SOP development and will be PTCB certified. The preferred candidate will have excellent communication, writing and verbal skills.
