Title: Supervising Respiratory Therapist

Regular Company: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Department: Respiratory Therapy Time Type: Full time Weekly Hours: 40 FTE: 1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: Manages day-to-day aspects of the department including scheduling, workload distribution, allocation of resources, establishes performance goals, counsels and evaluates subordinates; coordinates with other levels of management to develop overall business and patient care plans; directs the preparation and maintenance of department reports as well as reports to upper management and quality assurance; attends interdisciplinary committees and consults as a resource to medical, nursing and administrative staff; develops, reviews, revises and implements department policies and procedures; develops budgets and allocates funds to accomplish department objectives; formulates and provides in-service training for staff; performs all patient care and related duties as required for the general staff.The starting salary includes the base salary and geographical differential totaling $103,934 annually, which includes a comprehensive benefits package. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience
License Requirement
1. License to serve as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) issued by the New York State Department of Health and credentials to serve as a Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT) issued by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC); and
2. Possession of or eligibility for a license to serve as a Pulmonary Functions Technologist (RPFT) issued by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
Education and Experience
1. Master's degree with graduation from an American Medical Association (AMA) approved Respiratory Therapy Program and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience in respiratory therapy or a related healthcare field including one (1) year of experience in a supervisory, administrative, or consultative capacity; or
2. Bachelor's degree with graduation from an American Medical Association (AMA) approved Respiratory Therapy Program and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time experience in respiratory therapy or a related healthcare field including one (1) year of experience in a supervisory, administrative, or consultative capacity; or
3. Associate's degree with graduation from an American Medical Association (AMA) approved Respiratory Therapy Program and the equivalent of five (5) years of full-time experience in respiratory therapy or a related healthcare field including one (1) year of experience in a supervisory, administrative, or consultative capacity.
NOTE:
1. As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain a license to serve as a Pulmonary Functions Technologist (RPFT) issued by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) within two (2) years of their appointment to this title.
2. Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a Master's degree and 3 years of PFT or critical care experience.
