Title: Ultrasound Technologist

Regular Company: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Department: Diagnostic Radiology Time Type: Full time Weekly Hours: 40 FTE: 1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: General Ultrasound Duties:Performs diagnostic ultrasound imaging of internal organs to assist physicians in the evaluation and diagnosis of disease and organ dysfunction. Conducts routine and portable ultrasound examinations as ordered. Provides support to radiologists during procedures such as biopsies, drainages, intraoperative imaging, and other specialized studies. Ensures ultrasound rooms are properly stocked and maintained.
Breast Ultrasound Duties:
Performs high-quality ultrasound imaging of the breast and axillary regions to support the detection and diagnosis of breast-related conditions. Conducts both screening and diagnostic breast ultrasound exams as requested. Assists radiologists with image-guided procedures, including biopsies, aspirations, and other interventional breast studies. Maintains cleanliness and adequate supplies in breast imaging exam rooms. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience
License and Certification Requirement
1. License to practice as a Radiologic Technologist in the State of New York OR Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography and certified by an accredited institution as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
2. Current Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
Education and Experience
1. License to practice as a Radiologic Technologist in the State of New York, an Associate's degree and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience as an Ultrasound Technologist; or
2. Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography and certified by an accredited institution as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience as an Ultrasound Technologist; or
3. Equivalent experience gained by the completion of technical training as an Ultrasound Technologist at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center or an approved school or training institution may be substituted for the above experience requirement.
NOTE:
1. As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain and maintain the certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within ninety (90) days of their appointment to this title.
2. Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
One year experience performing general ultrasound
RDMS certification
2 or more experience performing Breast Ultrasound
ARRT or ARDMS certification in breast ultrasound
Knowledge of breast anatomy and pathology
Experience performing breast ultrasound procedures
