Job Summary
The Senior Defense Software Engineer is accountable for overall vehicle architecture, this includes software, network, and hardware configuration. The senior role will assist in providing guidance, coaching, and technical guidance to the software and network teams.  The Senior Defense Software Engineer will monitor the progress of the teams and follow up accordingly while providing productive feedback. This position is located in Troy, MI. 
                               
As a Senior Defense Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Ideation, creation, overall vehicle architecture
  • Technical guidance to meet overall architecture objectives
  • Professional development of software architect and network architect
  • Oversight of vehicle architecture build process
  • Quality analysis of documentation created by architects and team
  • Technical development of team (Best practices for Agile and vehicle architecture)
  • Hardware recommendation and evaluation
  • Creation and maintainance of team Agile process
To be considered as a Senior Defense Software Engineer, you will need:
  • U.S. citizenship allowing for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) compliance
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college/university and minimum of 4 years of related work experience OR minimum 7 years of related work experience without a degree
  • Experience with In Vehicle Network (IVN) architecture and design
  • Experience with In Vehicle Software Architecture and design
  • SME of developing and writing requirements definitions
  • SME Agile program methodology and implementation
  • Ability to work on the engineering and integration of military ground vehicle electronics systems and subsystems
  • Documentation of software, networking, and hardware best practices knowledge
  • SME on Ethernet, CANBUS, CMOSS, PCiE, video distribution networks, and in vehicle networks
  • SME on programming with Human Machine Interface (HMI) C++, RUST, QT, DDS, LVGL
A successful candidate may also have:
  • Master's degree in computer science or a related technical field
  • Direct experience with Agile Process methodologies
  • Experience developing and writing requirements definitions
  • Extensive software development experience
  • Experiences with the engineering and integration of military ground vehicle electronics systems and subsystems
  • Working knowledge of Vetronics systems and application
  • Detailed understanding of business processes: creation, refinement, and gap analyses
  • Program management execution and reporting knowledge and ability
  • Proven ability to interface with software, network, and hardware development & integration teams
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to quickly assimilate and apply new concepts, business models, and technologies
  • SME on network topology, communications standards, and protocols
  • Deep knowledge of and ability to coach others to facilitate professional and technical growth to a team
