The Vice President of Finance will be a highly visible and strategic leader. This individual will embrace the role of establishing a first-class finance organization. This role offers a unique opportunity for an intellectually curious, blue-collar minded executive who thrives on building, collaborating, and driving results. The VP of Finance will act as a trusted business advisor and partner for both C-Suite and Senior leadership of the Company. This individual will bring a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and will be energized by the opportunity to make a lasting impact.  As a cross-functional leader, the VP will work closely with operations, commercial, and executive teams to drive profitability, operational efficiency, and innovation. With significant visibility, this role is ideal for a hands-on finance leader eager to grow with the company, influence key decisions, and build a high-performing team culture rooted in accountability, agility, and continuous improvement.   This role is an onsite role based out of Livonia, MI.

The ideal candidate will be a passionate, hands-on operational finance leader who is deeply committed driving financial excellence across the company.  With a strong focus on operational partnership, this leader will actively drive process optimization, lead both short- and long-term forecasting and budgeting, and deliver insights that support the company's strategic goals of growth, diversification, and sustainability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the CFO to evolve the existing financial reporting processes and activities, including modifying the financial governance (as needed).
  • Provide insight / guidance to the leadership team on departmental, line of business and business unit planning initiatives through accounting and financial information analyses, reports, and recommendations; communicate accurate financial information, data, and metrics to help them make informed decisions.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Establish, monitor, and report on critical measurements including but not limited to revenue growth, operating income ($ and %), SG&A as a % of sales, inventory turns, ROA and EBITDA
  • Drive the development of the annual five-year financial planning and quarterly forecasting processes; ensure cross-functional collaboration and ownership
  • Collaborate with operational, commercial, and executive teams to develop, implement, and execute aggressive but realistic annual plans. Analyze results, initiate corrective actions, and minimize the impact of variances.
  • Present financial information to all levels of the organization.
  • Maintain and continuously improve key financial systems (PeopleSoft and OneStream).
  • Analyze organization operations to find opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and systems enhancement
  • Partner with senior management in evaluating strategic initiatives and approaches to improving the company's bottom line.
  • Recruit, coach, train, mentor and lead a team of eight Finance professionals.
  • Communicate and enforce company culture, policies, and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in senior-level finance positions with responsibility for the day-to-day financial operations and people management.
  • Minimum of 5 years managing financial operations within a multi-site organization and / or multiple business units with at least $75M in sales.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
  • Ability to manage complex / multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Create an atmosphere of open communication, mutual trust, and respect that fosters a growth mindset where team members feel empowered to share ideas, learn from one another, and contribute to the organization's success.
  • Demonstrated degree of passion and energy with a laser focus on execution and results; initiates as opposed to reacts.
  • Ability to think critically and develop sound financial strategies aligned with Company goals.
  • Adaptability to work in both manual and automated financial systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Well-organized with demonstrated success in driving innovation.
  • Can easily transition between detail and higher-level analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt to and drive change, handle multiple priorities, and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles and practices.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 10% as needed.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with Peoplesoft is preferred.
  • Experience in automotive and/or manufacturing industry preferred.
