Summary

The Warehouse Maintenance Technician IV is responsible for assembling, installing, aligning, commissioning, maintaining, repairing, diagnosing, inspecting, dismantling, and safe decommissioning of equipment. Servicing may include diagnosing irregularities and malfunctions, making adjustments, repairing or replacing parts, cleaning, and lubricating equipment. Limited, if any, welding, cutting, rigging, and machining is required. Core value is ensuring that materials coming in from different warehouses is inspected according to Customer Preservation guidelines, meeting Customer standards and applicable regulatory requirements, and complete maintenance as required on regular cadence until material deployment. Individual will be working primarily with Reliability Engineering and Area QA/QC Manager, supporting and interacting with Supply Chain Services (SCS), Material Management (MM), Inventory Management and Warehouse teams as required. The Millwright's role is also to provide technical guidance on material preservation improvements, material risk assessments, and support Warehouse Material Handlers for any specialized service requirements upon initial receipts or prior to shipping a material.

Essential Functions

  • Perform preventive maintenance procedures; rotating shafts, performing simple tests, inspecting fluid levels and quality, and diagnosis of tolerance risks within warehouse storage environments
  • Perform preventive maintenance procedures; oil changes, bearing checks, particular tests, troubleshooting, and minor repairs within warehouse storage environments
  • Maintain and manage against material maintenance schedules, update tracking systems with work completed, and plan for volumes as required
  • Order parts and consumable supplies as required during preservation activities
  • Keep work area and equipment in a safe, clean and orderly condition, maintaining compliance with Customer/Ryder Safety Standards and procedures
  • Support continuous improvements to the Preservation program, cataloguing opportunities, monitoring trends, improving standardization, and providing recommendations to reduce costs

Additional Responsibilities

  • Review material blueprints, drawings, and equipment manuals as required to perform work duties
  • Repair or secure material shipping containers or framework
  • Assist the Customer Asset department to find the appropriate disposition for non-conformance materials
  • Support the preparation of data analysis used in performance reporting for Preservation; participating in regular meetings with the Materials Management, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain team
  • Support compliance with Customer's Preservation guidelines, engineering standards, manufacturer's recommendations, and regulatory bodies as applicable
  • Participate in compliance audits by Customer Preservation representatives or outside regulatory bodies, e.g. ABSA
  • Perform duties and operate equipment in a safe and satisfactory manner
  • Conduct internal audits (PSV preservation, Warehouse QA received materials) and to determine further improvements and initiate necessary corrective action. Communication of in-house audits and propose Action Plans to all warehouse/BU personnel involved
  • Updating and revision of Preservation Guidelines, inspection checklists, Standard Work Practices, and components reference guides
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

  • Plan schedules and assess workload vsresource requirements (preferred)
  • Comprehension of core industrial mining and refinery materials such as pumps, valves, etc
  • Understand and read Engineered Blueprints and drawings
  • Work accuracy and attention to detail
  • Must be able to work with minimal direction
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and adapt to changes easily
  • Must possess strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills

Qualifications

  • College degree/Technical Certification required Industrial Millwright
  • Other preferred Industry Safety training and Certifications: Work Hazard Assessment, bulk materials handling, TDG, Hazardous fluids management, etc
  • Five (5) years or more 5+ years of experience in the industry required
  • Two (2) years or more Experience with Technical Report Compiling and Review required
  • Two (2) years or more Experience in bulk material handling; knowledge of rigging and specialized material handling risk assessment/management required
  • Other Journeyman Certificate in the Millwright Trade
