SAIC is seeking an AI Data Engineer to join our team in Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

The AI Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and architectures to support AI and machine learning workloads within the Army Intelligence & Security Enterprise (AISE). This role will focus on ensuring data availability, quality, and security for AI applications, enabling advanced analytics and decision-making capabilities. The AI Data Engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize data workflows and support operational integration of AI solutions. 

Job Duties

  • Design and implement scalable data pipelines to support AI and machine learning workloads. 
  • Develop and maintain data architectures that ensure data quality, availability, and security. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to identify and address data requirements for AI applications. 
  • Optimize data workflows for real-time analytics and decision-making processes. 
  • Ensure compliance with data governance policies and security protocols. 
  • Stay updated on advancements in data engineering, AI, and machine learning technologies. 
  • Support the operational integration of AI/ML solutions to enhance intelligence capabilities.

Qualifications

Required Education:

Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD or JD and zero (0) years or more experience; four (4) years of experience considered in lieu of degree. 

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of data pipeline design, ETL processes, and database management. 
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, and R. 
  • Experience with cloud platforms and tools (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). 
  • Experience with leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) such as GPT, or similar frameworks for tasks like natural language processing (NLP), text generation, summarization, or conversational AI. · Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance standards. 
  • Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills. 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks and tools (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, AWS SageMaker). 
  • Experience with real-time data processing and analytics platforms. 
  • Knowledge of Army Intelligence Enterprise data requirements and workflows. 
  • Strong understanding of MLOps practices and tools.

Clearance:

Candidates must have an active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI with Poly
