SAIC is hiring an Air to Air Weapons Requirements Manager to serve as the technical focal point for planning and integration support for the Air-to-Air Weapons Portfolio in Air Combat Command's Advanced Programs Weapon's Division (A5/8ZW). This team of specialized professionals works with Combatant Commanders, Air Staff, program offices, industry, and other organizations to define the systems required to defeat our nation's adversaries. This position is located at Langley AFB in Hampton, VA and requires up to one (1) trip per month to CONUS/OCONUS areas.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide operational, technical, and analytical assistance to document JCIDS and other MAJCOM Weapon Systems Requirements
- Assist in the drafting, review, and implementation of procedures, policy, systems capability definition and requirement documents, and guidance for incorporation into ACC operations
- Regularly interface with the Joint Staff, Air Staff, MAJCOMs, NAFs, OSD, AF TENCAP, FFRDCs, and other Government organizations when performing duties associated with ACC/A589
- Provide advice and assistance to leadership in the areas of mission need and requirements analysis, concept of operations development, program capability/cost tradeoff analysis, program roadmap creation including technology insertion, platform integration, and support planning throughout all stages of the weapon system lifecycle
- Support and advise on matters regarding security integration of weapon systems to meet warfighter needs
- Interface with acquisition, budget, test, and technology communities to facilitate successful planning, programming, and execution of ACC/A589 Air-to-Air Missiles
- Plan, coordinate, and attend ACC/A589 functions and conferences. Represent ACC/A589 personnel as a subject matter expert in Air-to-Air missiles at CAF requirements meetings, weapon system requirements integration working groups, operational performance exchanges, industry design reviews, and test/evaluation meetings
Qualifications
Required Clearance:
- US citizenship
- TS/SCI required to start; Ability to obtain a TS/SCI with CI Poly required to maintain employment
Required Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and fourteen (14) or more years of experience in Air Dominance programs with a background in either acquisitions or operations; Master's degree and twelve (12) or more years of related experience.
- Strong background in military operations
- Familiarization with staff work within the DoD, the PPBE process, the JCIDS process, and DoD systems acquisition process
- Excellent organization and time management skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Rated pilot or Weapons System Officer in a Combat Air Force (CAF) platform
- Four (4) years of Special Access Program (SAP) experience
