Description
SAIC is transforming complex system design processes through digital engineering. Integrating design artifacts, analytics and advanced visualization, we can speed the use of applications, accelerate design decisions, and unlock the power of advanced analytics to create the future of space system designs. We are seeking FORWARD THINKERS to help define, visualize and communicate the value of new space systems and technologies. We are looking for you, our next Artificial Intelligence Intern to apply your subject matter expertise in the following ways working out of our El Segundo, CA office.
Fun stuff you will do on the job:
- Provides technical support, either within the company or in support of customer contracts, on assignments using established procedures.
- Engineering interns may develop models spanning many areas of relevance, including communications, remote sensing, orbit dynamics, satellite design, and artificial intelligence.
- Perform space systems engineering tasks related to space system modeling, conducting mission scenario studies and performance trade analysis.
- Evaluate commercial spacecraft simulation applications for suitability for analyzing various space superiority scenarios.
- Support development of graphical user interfaces for interactive presentation of simulated scenarios.
- Develop the concept of operations, perform simulations and report results of how well simulation outcomes support mission objectives.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical) or Science (Physics, Computer Science, Astronomy, Data Analytics) graduating in 2027 or 2028.
- Must have a interim secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI.
- Experience with one or more programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, C, or C++.
- Prior knowledge of and/or interest in satellites, space missions or national security helpful but not required.
Desired Qualifications
- Education in control systems design.
- Experience with MATLAB or similar programming and analysis tools or with digital engineering applications and model based systems engineering (MBSE) software like Cameo, Sparx EA, or Model Center.
- Knowledge of communications (such as SATCOM) or sensors (such as electro-optic or radar), space missions or space orbits and constellations.
- Knowledge in machine learning or artificial intelligence.
