SAIC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Automated Tester to join our team supporting the Interoperability Engineering System (IES) software onsite at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL. This role is ideal for candidates with a foundational understanding of software testing and a strong interest in ensuring the quality and performance of software applications. As an Automated Tester, you will play a critical role in validating system functionality and contributing to the success of the IES

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute automated test scripts to validate system functionality and performance.
  • Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to identify testing requirements and clarify project needs.
  • Document and track defects using bug tracking tools, ensuring clear communication of issues.
  • Maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and scripts.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues encountered during testing.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to process and quality improvements.
  • Use Git for version control to manage test scripts and documentation.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging software testing technologies.

Qualifications

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience; Additional six (6) years of relevant experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.

 

Clearance Requirements

  • Must possess an active Interim Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance; US Citizenship required.

 

Required Skills

  • Experience in creating, executing, and debugging automated test scripts to validate functionality, performance, and system behaviors.
  • Familiarity with tools and frameworks commonly used in test automation (e.g., TestComplete, Eggplant etc.)
  • Proficiency in using Git for version control to collaborate with teams, manage test scripts, track changes, and maintain documentation integrity.
  • Understanding of Scrum ceremonies, sprint cycles, and backlog management tools (e.g., JIRA).
  • Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language for automation, such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or C#.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with Link 16 
  • Certifications like ISTQB, Certified Selenium Tester, or certifications in specific tools
  • Experience with additional programming languages or testing frameworks is a plus.
