SAIC is seeking Big Data Engineers to join the Machine-assisted Analytic Rapid-repository System (MARS) Advanced Development Operations (DevOps) and Sustainment Support (ADOS) program and provide on-site technical and administrative support to facilitate operations of critical MARS infrastructure and services. This effort focuses on providing a comprehensive set of System/ Software Engineering and IT Services to maintain, sustain, enhance, and improve/ modernize MARS.

 

The ideal candidate will be located in the National Capital Region.

 

Please note that this is contingent upon contract award, with an anticipated decision expected by fall 2025.

The Big Data Engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Construct robust data pipelines and prepare data for consumption by data scientists, analysts, and various other data systems.
  • Perform the pre-analytics areas of data collection and understanding, data cleansing and integration, and data storage and retrieval.
  • Determine the appropriate analytics based on data and desired outcomes, using techniques including feature detection, statistics, data mining, predictive modeling, machine learning, natural language processing, and business intelligence.
  • Ensure the quality, reliability, and security of data through the implementation of data validation rules, the development of data quality monitoring systems, and ensuring compliance with data governance policies.
  • Interpret the validity of results by following a scientific approach to generate value from data and communicate outcomes with key stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Familiarity with data wrangling, analytics, and visualization software and programming languages, including analytics methods of big data.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Experience with ETL pipelines, pyspark, SSMS, data preprocessing, and data ingestion.
  • Experience translating business requirements into conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Familiarity with Python, Java, SQL, NoSQL, AWS, Azure, GCP, Hadoop, and Spark.

 

Level II: Bachelors and 5-8 years of experience or an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of degree

 

Level III: Bachelors and 9-17 years of experience or an additional 4 years in lieu of degree


Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
