SAIC is looking for a Business Development Director that will be responsible for account growth and strengthening current relationships with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) as well as adjacent markets within the Intelligence Community. 

In this role, you will be responsible for creating business opportunities and channels, expanding our current footprint, and promoting knowledge of how SAIC capabilities in data analytics, artificial intelligence, DevSecOps, cloud migration, and enterprise IT can help customers achieve better mission outcomes. 

The ideal team member has prior experience within the Agency and is a self-starter with a competitive mindset that can work in an entrepreneurial but collaborative environment.  This individual should have an intimate understanding of federal procurement cycles that are specific to the Agency. The individual works very closely with Capture Managers and the Account VP to develop very strong internal relationships needed for success in SAIC's matrix organization of customer-facing business groups.

Responsibilities:

  • Contextualize hard customer problems, help customers think through and shape solutions, and lead teams within SAIC developing solutions.
  • Business development, the generation of direct and indirect sales and contract capture. 
  • Proven experience in federal marketing and business development including agency account planning, pipeline creation/origination/qualification/development, pursuit team assembly and opportunity development to drive new sales.
  • Develop and implement a strategy for searching out promising new business opportunities, primarily through effective direct and indirect customer engagement which will result in new business revenue for the company.
  • Must be able to leverage years of existing relationships in the Agency and industry to build and drive new business.
  • Self-motivated leader, with a grasp on company goals with an attention to detail.  
  • Must have a hunter mindset to discover, drive and extend business footprint.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a bachelor's degree and 15 years of experience.
  • At least 5 years of recent experience supporting the Agency directly or indirectly.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the organizational structure and priorities of the Agency.
  • Experience in responding to solicitations under the Federal Acquisition Regulation and proficiency in industry BD best practices (e.g., Shipley) to create proposals for government customers.
  • Must have strong executive presence as well as excellent oral and written skills. 
  • Demonstrated track record of identifying and closing new business using consultative and collaborative multi-discipline team approach.
  • Deep understanding of commercial and Federal technology trends with the ability to drive positive change following industry perspective via the latest technology solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, ever-changing, high growth environment.
  • A Clearance is required: Must have a Top Secret (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) (TS/SCI). Lifestyle polygraph preferred but not required. 
  • Must be a US Citizen.
