SAIC is seeking a C4N Production Manager to support the Navy's LCAC ACV program at NSWC PCD.
Work will be performed onsite 5 days a week and is located in Panama City Beach, FL.
The C4N Production Manager will directly supervises individual contributors (skilled technicians, administrative support) and/or entry-level professionals (accountants, entry-level engineers)
Manages the activities and staff in an assembly function, which may include but is not limited to a wide variety of electronic, electro-mechanical, mechanical or measurement product assembly operations on product components, assemblies or sub-assemblies.
Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering, cable harnessing and welding/fitting on assembly units.
Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications.
May also set up and operate a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exact tolerances and dimensions.
Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications; determines sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup; uses a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments; makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds; measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining; fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment and determines material, parts, and equipment required.
Some machines may be numerically controlled.
May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as: Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or Supply Chain Management
8 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with progressive responsibilities and experience in: Production planning and scheduling, Inventory management, Supply chain management, Quality control, and Team management and leadership.
Experience in a related industry: Such as marine, aerospace, or automotive.
Experience with manufacturing software: Such as ERP, MRP, or MES systems.
Experience with lean manufacturing principles: Such as continuous improvement, wastereduction, and process optimization.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
Must have an active Secret clearance
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT:
Certifications in any of the following: Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Lean Manufacturing Certification, Six Sigma Certification, and Project Management Professional (PMP).
