SAIC is currently seeking a Chief Field Service Experts (FSE) to support SAIC's Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) Team.

Primary duty location is onsite at the Fort Sill, Lawton Oklahoma - which requires 4 months onsite training in Huntsville, Alabama.

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

As the Chief Field Service Engineer, your role would involve overseeing and ensuring the highest level of technical support, system integration, and field service engineering for the IBCS Program. You will lead collaboration efforts with military and civilian personnel to ensure the seamless deployment, operation, and maintenance of the IBCS system at a strategic level.

  • Oversee and ensure the delivery of high-level technical support services for maintaining and sustaining fielded IBCS systems, equipment, and software across all identified locations
  • Serve as the senior representative of the IBCS program, acting as the primary point of contact and ensuring efficient communication between all stakeholders
  • Lead the integration and maintenance efforts for systems running Red Hat Enterprise Linux and the integration of COTS/GOTS products with IBCS systems
  • Supervise and coordinate the emplacement and initialization of the IBCS system, ensuring best practices and protocols are followed
  • Provide expert advisory services to customers on the capabilities and limitations of the IBCS system, leveraging extensive technical knowledge and experience
  • Oversee and guide the troubleshooting of IBCS hardware, software, and networks, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of issues
  • Report directly to program leadership on system performance, providing strategic feedback and end-user insights to inform decision-making
  • Direct and manage operator and maintainer tasks on equipment, integrated systems, subsystems, and software, ensuring alignment with program objectives
  • Develop and oversee comprehensive training programs for field service engineers and other personnel, ensuring high levels of competency and knowledge retention
  • Manage and optimize the Program Help Desk, ensuring timely and effective support for end-users
  • Oversee and ensure the completion of scheduled equipment inventories, maintaining accurate records and accountability of all assets

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • BS and 17+ years' experience; six (6) years' experience accepted in lieu of degree (per contract) 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with tactical networks and troubleshooting
  • In field operator training
  • Troubleshooting of computer systems and networks
  • Good oral communications
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in high-pressure environments
  • Able to work independently and efficiently with short term deadlines 

REQUIRED CLEARANCE:

  • Must possess an active DoD Secret Clearance

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Security+ certified (active on Day 1) 
  • Linux + certification or the ability to obtain within three months of hire date

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Army Air Defense background (14 or 140A or 14G) 
  • IBCS experience maintaining and sustaining fielded IBCS systems, equipment and software
  • Willingness to acquire CDL
