We are seeking a highly experienced and solutions-oriented Cloud Infrastructure Architect to join our dynamic team supporting mission-critical environments. This role blends deep expertise in cloud platforms, systems engineering, and DevOps practices. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in both government and commercial sectors, designing and implementing scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions. A strong foundation in AWS, infrastructure automation, and CI/CD pipelines is essential, as is the ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver in fast-paced, hybrid-cloud environments.

You will be a part of a large multi-year contract that supports our customer in systems engineering and integration across a broad portfolio of projects. You will come into a program that enjoys a close working relationship with the customer, bringing exquisite technical expertise to bear on real world problems, helping the customer execute real world missions that impact National Security daily. This close relationship, along with the program's longevity (20 years), ensures that as a new team member you will find a depth of support to grow and develop that is unmatched, all while making a difference - daily.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, deploy, and manage secure hybrid cloud solutions with AWS and on-prem infrastructure
  • Design and automate CI/CD pipelines using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, GitLab CI, and CloudFormation
  • Develop and manage hardened AMIs, Docker containers, and internal software repositories
  • Lead systems integration and migration projects including COTS and FOSS evaluations
  • Interface directly with stakeholders, developers, and security teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions
  • Provide ongoing support for complex environments including user access, network design, and cost analysis
  • Collaborate with multiple vendors and customer organizations to support federal intelligence initiatives
  • Build monitoring and logging solutions using tools like Splunk, Tenable, and CloudTrail
  • Maintain and optimize environments running technologies such as Kubernetes, Hadoop, Spark, Jupyter, and RedShift
  • Implement secure authentication systems using FreeIPA, Active Directory, and domain services
  • Manage and improve enterprise development environments using Agile and DevSecOps principles

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 20+ years of experience in systems administration, cloud engineering, and infrastructure architecture
  • Proven leadership in technical projects across multiple organizations and agencies
  • Expertise in AWS (VPC, EC2, S3, IAM, RDS, CloudFormation, WorkSpaces, Snowball)
  • Strong development background in Python (Boto3), Bash, PowerShell, .NET (C#), T-SQL
  • Hands-on experience with container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm)
  • Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure as code (Terraform, GitLab CI, Puppet, Ansible)
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate and Professional)
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer; experience with RHEL, CentOS, SuSE, and Solaris preferred
  • M.S. in Systems Engineering, Computer Science and B.S. in Business or Technical field
  • Certified Scrum Master and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
