SAIC is looking for a Project Manager with construction management experience to join our team in Springfield, VA.  The position requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph.  The ideal candidate shall have a broad facility project and construction management background including: project coordination, planning, prioritization, and construction supervision. The scope of projects will range from $50K to $30M. 

The ideal candidate serves as an interface between the on-site government facilities management organization, design and construction contractors, Site Operations and Maintenance (O&M) support contractor, local utilities, and all other customers and stakeholders on matters related to customer requirements and execution. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the five phases of the project life cycle to include requirements development, programming, design, construction, and closeout.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Act as the liaison, reporting to and coordinating with, the U.S. government representatives at multiple levels.
  • Ensuring that the government receives valid cost proposals.
  • Managing a multi-project portfolio from conception to closeout.
  • Reviewing and commenting on design drawings.
  • Inspecting the work of the construction contractor during the construction phase to ensure accurate materials, placement, and proper installation.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Poly.
  • Bachelor's degree; however, professional experience and relevant certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 15+ years supervising and managing construction in the field as a commercial/industrial Construction.
  • Demonstrated experience with project and construction estimating.
  • Demonstrated project management skills associated with managing performance, budget, schedules, and adhering to control gates.
  • Knowledge of facility operations & maintenance activities and procedures.
  • Experience with all types of commercial/industrial construction to include tools, techniques, materials, operations and procedures.
  • Knowledgeable in many aspects of construction skill trade work including but not limited to concrete forming and placement, masonry erection, building envelopes, moisture intrusion, seismic regulations, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, structural, roofing, framing and architectural finishes.
  • Knowledgeable in AutoCAD and MSOffice Suite.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local building and safety codes.
  • Demonstrated track record of adhering to tight schedules.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing resources.

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Business, Engineering or Architectural Field
  • Experience with MS Project or equivalent scheduling tool
  • Project Management Institutes' PMP or equivalent project management certification
