SAIC is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Production Laborer with experience to join our team at the Bedford, IN location. This role involves preparing and performing sandblasting operations on various materials to meet production standards. The ideal candidate will ensure that all work is completed with high-quality standards, following safety protocols, and meeting production deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate sandblasting equipment to clean, smooth, or finish surfaces of materials such as metal, concrete, or other industrial products.
• Prepare workpieces by masking off areas that should not be blasted and ensuring proper alignment.
• Monitor equipment during sandblasting processes, making adjustments as necessary to ensure optimal performance.
• Inspect finished surfaces to ensure they meet the required specifications and quality standards.
  Maintain equipment, perform routine cleaning, and report any issues or malfunctions to management.
• Follow all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate protective gear (PPE), to ensure a safe work environment.
• Assist with the setup and teardown of sandblasting equipment and the preparation of work areas.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production schedules, safety concerns, and any issues that arise.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment by properly storing materials and tools after use.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulations related to production and safety.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a production labor and or sandblasting role.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control.
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand, bend, and lift materials for extended periods.
• Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
