SAIC is looking for a Fabrication Supervisor to support both existing and new programs. This position will be located in Panama City Beach, Florida.
Job Description:
- Supervises fabrication of production components including welding, basic machining, assembly, and packaging.
- Maintains welding certifications and acquires new certifications as needed.
- Supervises fleet installation of various modification packages at various locations.
- Intermittent travel will be required.
- Reviews and provides expert feedback on drawings and other technical documents.
- Learns new skills rapidly and teaches team members.
- Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering, welding/fitting, machining, on assembly units.
- Follows quality policy and ensures all work meets required standards.
- Makes setups and adjustments to keep tolerances within specifications.
- Set up and operate a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exact tolerances and dimensions.
- Interprets drawings, sketches, and engineering specifications; determines sequence of operations for fabrication; uses a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments; makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds; measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining; fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment and determines material, parts, and equipment required.
- Some machines may be numerically controlled.
- May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and zero (0) years or more experience; four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree
Qualifications:
- Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
- Work independently or with little supervision
- Experience supervising project teams
- Knowledge with proper hand tools (power tools, drills, saws, etc.)
- Experience with mills, lathes, brakes for fabrication and performing QA
- Experience with welding both in shop and in field per drawings
Travel Required:
Possible CONUS & OCONUS travel with this role
Clearance:
Ability to obtain and maintain a full Secret clearance. Minimum of an Interim Secret clearance required to start.
