JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Army Navy Business Group currently has a career opportunity for an Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) subject matter expert (SME) to provide unit-level training support to Afloat Training Group Atlantic (ATGL) in Norfolk, VA.
The individual in this position will deliver technical training and certification recommendations on Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) capabilities and limitations for ships, provide feedback on training readiness issues, training deficiency trends, and potential recommendations for process improvement, assist in the technical and tactical development of Battle Lab JSAF scenarios in support of FST-U events, and act as a warfare commander (Whiskey, Uniform, Zulu, ASTAC, etc) during distributed training events. In addition, he/she will have ten (10) years of applicable experience in/with:
Navy and/or Defense training operations, policy, doctrine, systems, and staff procedures, including an understanding of the OFRP, FRTP, FTC and other Navy training policies.
Training management.
Developing training curriculums.
Conducting fleet/ joint training assessments to identify gaps, training needs and solutions.
Delivering training in person and/or online.
Developing and modifying training event/exercise scenarios.
Managing training projects.
Leading teams or projects.
Designing custom training to meet training objectives.
Public speaking and presenting.
Engaging Senior Staff at the Flag Officer/Director/Manager level in both written and oral formats.
Handling multiple priorities and interruptions with minimal impact on productivity/deliverables.
Specific Functional Area tasks include:
Provide technical training and certification recommendations on IAMD capabilities and limitations for ATGL ships.
Analyze IAMD End of Mission Reports from ATGL ships and provide feedback on training readiness issues, training deficiency trends, and recommendations for process improvement.
Provide technical advice and quality assurance for training execution, to include analysis of cognizant mission area training, recommendations for appendix deviations, and individual ship Basic Phase Training plans with respect to IAMD.
Assist in the technical and tactical development of Battle Lab JSAF scenarios in support of FST-U events.
Act as a warfare commander (Uniform, Whiskey, Zulu, etc) during distributed training events conducted in the Battle Lab.
Provide training to individual watchstanders when the military IAMD team requires an augment.
Qualifications
REQUIRED BACKGROUND / EDUCATION / SKILLS:
Must be a U.S. citizen with a Secret clearance and Bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience.
Active military duty experience including recent instructional/training experience.
Five (5) years of recent experience as operator/technician for IAMD system or experience as TAO/BMDWO/AAWC watchstander on AEGIS systems.
Must possess proven written and verbal communication skills and be able to act independently.
Experience in use of MS Office (e.g., Excel, Access, PowerPoint) products.
DESIRED BACKGROUND / EDUCATION / SKILLS:
Designation as Afloat Training Specialist or Master Training Specialist.
Familiarity with Surface Force Readiness Manual (SFRM)and Surface Force Exercise Manual (SFEM)is a plus.
