SAIC is seeking a highly motivated and talented Junior Software Engineer to join our team in Arlington, Virginia. 

This role involves contributing to the design, development, and implementation of innovative solutions, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) initiatives.

Working in a hybrid capacity, with occasional onsite requirements at the Pentagon, this Junior Software Engineer role is ideal for individuals eager to bring their technical skills to highly impactful programs that support national security and defense missions. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders and senior engineers to gather, document, and analyze technical and functional requirements for new and existing software projects.
• Support the design of system architecture, workflows, and software solutions that align with project goals and government directives.
• Contribute to research, development, and integration of AI/ML-enabled solutions, including data analysis, algorithm design, and system integration.
• Assist in the development, testing, and deployment of software components and applications using modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Create and maintain accurate system and process documentation to ensure compliance with quality and security standards.
• Work in a hybrid environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams, government stakeholders, and senior technical personnel. Onsite work at the Pentagon will be required periodically to meet mission needs.
• Stay up-to-date with new technologies, tools, and methodologies in software development, AI, and ML. Apply innovations to drive program effectiveness.

Qualifications

Required Education:

Bachelors a zero (0) years related experience; four (4) years of experience considered in lieu of degree. 

Qualifications: 

• Knowledge or experience in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile practices.
• Interest in or experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) systems.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Flexibility to work onsite at the Pentagon as needed, based on project demands.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Clearance:

Candidate must have an active Secret clearance.
