SAIC is seeking a Lead Cybersecurity Engineer / Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) to serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in the development of cybersecurity best practices. In this role, you will drive secure architecture, system resiliency, RMF/ATO compliance, and cyber risk management across mission systems that support U.S. Space Force command and control operations.

This position is based in El Segundo, CA, and focuses on supporting the Horizon program within the Space C2 Program Management Office. As part of this role, you will be collaborating closely with the Space Systems Command's (SSC) Battle Management Command, Control & Communications (BMC3) Program Executive Office. You will work directly with government, technical, and industry stakeholders to shape cybersecurity strategy, secure cloud and enterprise architectures, and ensure the protection of mission-critical space capabilities.

Fun stuff you will do on the job:
- Lead design and implementation of cybersecurity controls across multi-domain and multi-enclave systems.
- Serve as ISSM and ensure compliance with JSIG, CNSSI 1253, NIST SP 800-37/53, and RMF.
- Manage ATO activities using tools such as eMASS or XACTA.
- Support secure architecture and integration for cloud-based development and operations environments.
- Assess vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies throughout system lifecycles.
- Oversee security policy implementation, configuration management, auditing, incident handling, and contingency planning.
Lead and mentor cybersecurity and ISSO personnel.
Provide security engineering expertise in areas such as cryptography, cross-domain solutions, system integration, and secure infrastructure.
Advise program leadership on cybersecurity posture, risks, acquisition activities, and system readiness.
Prepare security documentation, briefings, and technical reports supporting enterprise and mission decisions.

Qualifications

This is you:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or a related discipline implementing large scale, highly-available, complex solutions for software services and applications with 14 years of experience in/with:
     - Cybersecurity, ISSM, or ISSO roles in SAP/SCI or DoD environments (6+ years of experience).
     - System security engineering, vulnerability assessment, and secure system development.
     - DoD 8140 (722) Information Systems Security Manager – Intermediate certification, such as:
CGRC/CAP, CASP+, CCSP, Cloud+, SSCP, Security+, or GSEC.
     - Supporting and/or managing technical programs throughout the software engineering life cycle.
- Must have an in-scope security background investigation (T5), adjudicated for SCI eligibility and enrolled in the Continuous Vetting program (if applicable).
- Must be willing to be nominated for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information and Special Access Programs and willing to consent to a Polygraph examination.

You will wow us even more if you have, or have experience with, the following:
- Advanced 8140 (722) certification (e.g., CISM, CISSP, CISSP-ISSMP, GCIA, GCIH, GSLC, GICSP).
- Securing space mission systems, cloud/DevSecOps environments, or C2 systems.
- Secure Software Development Lifecycle, configuration/change management, and enterprise cyber monitoring tools.
- Scaling prototype capabilities into operational enterprise systems.
- Development of best practices integrated cybersecurity best practices regarding maintenance, administration, engineering, architecture, development, patching, and upgrades of various applications, and systems used for space operations.
- Enterprise IT change and configuration management policies, implementing changes to cybersecurity and/or cyberspace operational systems, software, devices, etc. (e.g. access management, monitoring, configuration management, etc.)
- Management of system configuration and monitoring changes to increase effectiveness or efficiencies in the systems capabilities toward monitoring and implementing logical access controls to enforce policy.
- Design, develop, document, test, and debug cybersecurity and/or cyberspace operations application software using secure coding practices.
- Enabling development delivery speed while maintaining high cyber hygiene for information systems.


Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
