SAIC is seeking a Logistics Supervisor to support the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) program and Vehicle and Mobility Integration at our Bedford, IN location. This position encompasses the meticulous coordination of project schedules, ensuring material readiness, and synchronizing interdepartmental activities. Effective financial management of LBR and ODCs is crucial, alongside the leadership required to supervise teams, implement policies, and delegate tasks efficiently. Key responsibilities include managing deliverables and CDRLs, supervising drafting and configuration management, proactively solving problems, and fostering effective communication internally and externally. The role demands a blend of strategic planning, operational execution, and financial oversight to achieve project objectives while maintaining quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Project Planning and Control:
· Oversee the planning, preparation, issuance, and control of project schedules in support of Vehicle and Mobility Integration, ensuring alignment and optimization to meet project milestones.
· Develop scheduling requirements from engineering specifications and project timelines, ensuring effective material movement through collaboration with purchasing, warehouse, and production teams.
· Monitor and report on the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential project issues, facilitating proactive solutions to ensure personnel, equipment, materials, and services align with project demands.
· Coordinate with interdepartmental teams such as quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, and traffic to expedite parts movement through the use of move orders, stock transfers, and shipping requests.
· Supervise Drafting and Configuration Management to ensure that engineering drawings and configurations are up-to-date and meet project requirements.
Funding Allocation and Oversight:
· Manage and oversee funding allocations, including Labor (LBR) and Other Direct Costs (ODCs), to ensure financial health and resource optimization for project executions.
· Supervise budget monitoring, expenditures, and forecasts, delivering detailed financial reports and resource status updates to management.
· Ensure compliance with internal policies and customer contract requirements in all financial activities, maintaining accurate records and transparent funding management practices.
Deliverable Management and CDRLs:
· Supervise the development and timely delivery of project deliverables to customers, ensuring compliance with specified requirements, quality standards, and schedules.
· Manage the administration of Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), guaranteeing all documentation and data submissions meet contract specifications and are delivered on time.
Leadership and Delegation:
· Lead and supervise individual contributors (skilled technicians, administrative support) and/or entry-level professionals (accountants, entry-level engineers).
· Oversee daily operations of the work unit, ensuring alignment with project objectives, policies, and management guidelines.
· Implement and enforce policies, processes, and procedures that impact work units and subordinate employees, providing recommendations for policy adjustments to enhance efficiency.
· Delegate tasks such as scheduling equipment and personnel, confirming material supply and demands, and preparing work orders or purchase requests for the production or acquisition of components or parts based on master production schedules, shop loads, and inventory requirements.
Scope and Objectives:
· Receive assignments in the form of high-level objectives with specified goals and processes, providing strategic direction within established policies and management guidelines.
· Administer company policies affecting subordinate employees and recommend changes to improve unit or sub-unit performance.
· Ensure work meets project objectives and is reviewed for sound judgment, quality, and overall efficiency.
Problem Solving and Complexity:
· Address and resolve complex policy, process, and procedure-based problems, leading the operations within the work unit with a focus on effective problem-solving.
Interdepartmental Communication:
- Interact primarily internally with subordinates and other supervisors, and externally with suppliers, vendors, and customers, focusing on information sharing and basic problem resolution.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelors and six (6) years or more of related experience; Masters and four (4) years or more experience; Experience acceptable in leu of a degree.
Required Skills:
- Project Management: Understanding in planning, scheduling, and managing complex projects, with a focus on vehicle and mobility integration.
- Financial Skills: Understanding of budgeting and managing project costs, including Labor (LBR) and Other Direct Costs (ODCs).
- Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and supervise teams, implement policies, and effectively delegate tasks.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
