SAIC is seeking to hire a Network Engineer / Test Engineer to support as the projects Lead Developer on Networks, and Command, Control, Communications, Computers & Navigation (C4N). The Medium Displacement Unmanned Surface Vessel (MDUSV) program involves deployment of autonomous unmanned surface vessels (USV's) to demonstrate an enhanced warfighting capability to disrupt adversary activity in a given maritime region. This program seeks to advance unmanned autonomous USV warfighting capabilities while participating in high-visibility operations. The MDUSV program is a multi-year effort managed by NIWC-PAC with PMS-406 as the Program Office and Unmanned Surface Vessel Development Squadron-1 (USVDIV1). This is an ONSITE role in San Diego, CA.
JOB DUTIES:
- The Lead Developer on Networks and C4N Representative is expected to have experience with Operational Risk Management in a T&E environment.
- The individual also needs to be able to communicate with high level NAVSEA Program Office and stakeholders, as well as the active-duty Navy to which the USVs often subordinate when deployed in Fleet developmental operations and exercises.
- The candidate will host and lead weekly IPT meetings via Teams that includes high level participation by several entities spanning the nation to include Echelon II level sponsors.
- The individual will also maintain the project's Kanban (tracking action items, etc.) and conducts regular briefings for project personnel including Government and Contractor employees.
- The lead representative is expected to be on-site during working hours and will need to be present for all critical operations and all underway events.
- The individual will be expected to go to sea with the project in the local operating areas and during critical phases of developmental deployments as scheduled for Fleet participation, and/or work rotating watches in support of deployments.
- Requiring full-time lead to support the assigned C4N Department's work needs and operating the USVs via remote capabilities (as needed/assigned).
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have Bachelors degree and Two (2) years or more experience; years of experience to be considered in lieu of degree
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must have an Active Secret Clearance to start
- Experience with day-to-day management and maintenance of laptops, servers, switches, and other computer systems. Includes ensuring compliancy, installing, configuring, and updating Linux and Windows systems, as well as troubleshooting any issues that arise. Implementing backup processes and tools for the team.
- Experienced in configuration and management of Cisco switches
- Experienced in writing scripts and tools for automation using Programming skills in C/C++/Python
- Experienced in understanding security (CYBER) controls for CONTAINERS and VMs and Implementing security measures to protect system data and prevent unauthorized access
- Understanding and implementation of DOCKER containers and management for virtualization
- Experienced in VM computing environment; install new software, change code down to the OS level
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Coordinating with vendors on new SW and HW integration, testing, and utilization.
- Managing user accounts and permissions
- Documenting system configurations and procedures
- Providing technical support and training to other teams
- Supporting communications team in validating and integrating new equipment
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
