SAIC has an immediate opening for a skilled Nuclear Policy Analyst to provide mission-critical support to the Headquarters Air Force Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategic Deterrence and Nuclear Integration. This role provides specialized technical, analytical, and programmatic support for the Nuclear Command, Control and Communication (NC3) Division. Work will be performed onsite in the Arlington, VA area (Pentagon).

Job Responsibilities:

Provide detailed analytical and preparatory support for Air Force participation in Nuclear Command, Control, and Communication (NC3)-related governance forums, technical discussions, and high-level senior leader engagements.

Assess and integrate Joint Requirements Oversight Council (JROC), Joint Staff, and Combatant Command (COCOM) NC3 requirements into Department of the Air Force (DAF) policies and guidance.

Lead the drafting, editing, and coordination of updates to two critical Air Force NC3 policy documents, ensuring relevance, accuracy, and cross-organizational alignment.

Coordinate formal staffing and cross-organizational input across Headquarters Air Force and relevant stakeholders, ensuring seamless feedback and collaboration.

Develop and deliver comprehensive briefings, point papers, and programmatic reports to effectively communicate NC3 policy developments and updates.

Support the Air Force in NC3 technical working groups, steering boards, and other forums, fostering collaboration and advocating for Air Force equities.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Expertise in Department of the Air Force (DAF) organizational structure, processes, decision-making frameworks, and operations related to nuclear integration or strategic deterrence.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, programmatic research, and developing technical reports and presentations for senior leaders.
  • Experience with collaboration platforms (e.g., Microsoft SharePoint) and task management tools (e.g., CATMS, eTask, TMT, DoW enterprise tools).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate (written and verbal) complex ideas effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with NC3 modernization efforts or governance structures.
  • Hands-on experience in policy development or coordination within the Department of War or federal government.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to engage and collaborate with teams across multiple departments.
  • An advanced degree in a related field, such as National Security Strategy, International Relations, Nuclear Engineering, or a similar discipline.

 

Required Educational Background:

Bachelor's Degree and ten (10) years or more of experience, or a Master's Degree and eight (8) or more of experience
