SAIC is seeking a highly motivated Platform Engineer to join our team and propel the organization forward in supporting a large IT Enterprise contract located near Annapolis Junction, MD. Contract award is expected in September 2025 with a start in October 2025.
The Platform Engineer will design, build, and manage systems and tools to streamline software scripting, installation, provisioning, and configuration. Collaboration with back-end application developers, DBA, and engineers for system integration efforts will enable the ability to build and deploy applications efficiently and reliably. The Platform Engineer will capture data, resolve complex network problems, prepare hardware and system designs for updates to enhanced VDI (eVDI), and configure and maintain network diagrams and accreditations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform implementation, integration, and maintenance on systems architecture related to the Citrix environment in Windows, UNIX, Linux systems.
- Provide support for the eVDI including troubleshooting, repairing, monitoring, and testing.
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support to Citrix end users.
- Optimize system operations and resource utilization and perform system capacity analysis and planning.
- Implement specific network solutions to support server requirements to include load-balancing, VPN's, firewall contexts, and network address translation (NAT) where appropriate.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Ten (10) years' experience as Platform Engineer.
- Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or in a field related to the computer engineering or computer science disciplines. Four (4) years of additional Platform Engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree for a total of 14 years.
- 5+ years' experience with Linux, Unix, and/or Shell programming.
- 2+ years' experience with Enterprise Hosting Platforms, Service Applications, and/or Enterprise Data Centers.
- DoD 8570 compliance with IAT Level I or higher.
Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
