SAIC is seeking a Process Engineer Supervisor to support the US Navy in the development, production, and sustainment of military aircraft mechanical systems in Indianapolis, IN.
Responsibilities:
Design, author, establish, develop, improve, and maintain standard technical processes and procedures for disassembly, modification, upgrade, assembly and testing of complex mechanical assemblies and paint procedures. Plan and manage the scheduling of parts, projects, and paint procedures to keep workflow moving at an efficient rate while maintaining deadlines. Manage and direct the day-to-day tasking of several Technicians to accomplish required tasking, achieving stringent quality and product output goals and practicing lean manufacturing processes. Perform Engineering Technician work, as required by the project
Qualifications
Education Requirements:
- Must possess a Bachelors degree, preferably in mechanical, industrial, materials or electrical engineering, and five (5) years or more experience; Additional four (4) years of experience can be considered in lieu of degree.
Clearance Requirements:
- Must have the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance; US Citizenship required.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Experience in designing, launching, and managing the output and quality of manufacturing and assembly projects
- Strong communication skills; able to effectively communicate (verbally and written) technical information to an audience of peers, subordinates, and leadership
- Experience in designing, launching, and managing the output and quality of manufacturing and assembly projects. Experience with Microsoft Excel; with sound abilities to generate and update spreadsheets with data and appropriate formulas, sorting, formatting, etc required for decision making and reporting
- Experience with Microsoft Word; with sound abilities to author new and update existing process documents (detailed work instructions) for the inspection, assembly, modification, upgrade, and testing of electro-mechanical devices
- Adept at reading and correctly interpreting engineering drawings and engineering specifications and electrical schematics, and conducting related research in order to make technical decisions that directly affect processing and quality
- Good working understanding of the quality requirements of ISO9000 or AS9100 and their application to production work
- Experience in designing custom gages, tools, fixtures required for production work, strong understanding of tools, gages, and manufacturing processes
- Zeal and tenaciousness for performing a job well done with attention to detail and focus on quality
