JOB DESCRIPTION: Target drone recovery and logistical support for U.S. Navy east coast and gulf coast operations.
Recovery Mission Specialist (RMS) responsible for the recovery of US Navy target drones (BQM-177) from civilian helicopters using specialized equipment. RMS will fly in the helicopter, provide verbal guidance to the pilot, while securely attached to the helicopter use the provided recovery pole to hook the target, and provide verbal guidance to the pilot to safely place the target on the recovery pad.
Flight Safety Aircrewman (FSA) responsible for proper outfitting and use of restraining belts and harnesses by passengers during overwater transit to/from naval vessels by civilian helicopter and their orderly embarkation/debarkation. Monitor ship flight deck crew for the proper install and removal of tie-down chains and ensure passenger safety during their transits across the flight deck. Be familiar with the transport of Hazardous Material (HAZMAT).
Required training will be received from team Recovery Mission Manager (RMM) consisting of (1) cast and recovery from civilian helicopter via rescue hoist and coping ladder, (2) specialized recovery equipment familiarity, assembly/disassembly, and maintenance, (3) target recovery procedures and techniques, (4) emergencies, and (5) operating areas and recovery facilities familiarization.
Candidates will be required to have and maintain a high degree of physical fitness with an emphasis on swimming.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor Degree and 1-2 years' experience OR 4 additional years in lieu of degree with as an US Navy helicopter Aircrewman or equivalent experience as civilian search and rescue helicopter Aircrewman.
Must be able to obtain and maintain certification in advanced first aid and CPR.
Must have an interim secret clearance
