SAIC is seeking a CAD Operator III to support the US Navy in Crane, IN.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position will provide drafting and documentation support for NSWC Crane Maneuver, Surveillance, and Engagement Systems Division, Code JXWQ. In this role you will support a dedicated team creating/updating Technical Data Package(s) using SolidWorks 3D parametric Software. One must be able to understand, perform and be trained quickly and efficiently to the processes and procedures that are required by the tasks given.

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES:

·        Creates and modifies detailed models and drawings using SolidWorks and other 3D parametric CAD Software(s)

·        Works closely with the Customer, Engineers, Technicians and other CAD Operators to capture design

·        Works independently as well as in a collective team effort to effect changes to design and/or documentation

·        Performs a variety of moderate and complex tasks and have the ability to use a variety of tools to include, but not limited to, Calipers, Gauges, Tape Measure, Ruler and other mechanical devices to aid in design development and verification/validation

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

·       High School Diploma/GED or Higher education and four years of experience.

·       Interim secret clearance required to start with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. SAIC will sponsor the clearance process.

·       Experience using other 3D CAD software is a plus and will be considered with one or more of the following programs Solid Edge, AutoDesk Inventor and Creo.

·       Hands-on mechanical/electro-mechanical knowledge and aptitude with understanding of currently accepted manufacturing processes and ISO procedures

·       Must be detail oriented and able to communicate complex ideas in a production floor environment.

·       Ability to quickly complete tasks independently and as a team member, with detailed or general instructions.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

·       Experience while using 3D parametric software, Solid Works preferred

·       Knowledge of: (ASME-Y14.100, MIL-STD-31000) preferred but not required, understanding basic CAD operations and procedures associated to standard Drawing Standards are a must, basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance of Technical Drawings and Data Packages a plus 

·       Understanding of Military standards a plus
