We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Computer Operator IV to join our talented team. In this role, you will be responsible for advanced system maintenance, complex troubleshooting, data management, network monitoring, security administration, and often acts as a technical lead, requiring skills like in-depth knowledge of operating systems, strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex technical projects, including backup and recovery procedures, system upgrades, and security protocols. 

Work is performed on site in Norfolk, VA and Virginia Beach, VA.

This position is contingent upon award news Spring of 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform complex system maintenance tasks, including hardware and software upgrades, configuration management, and performance optimization.
  • Identify and resolve network issues, analyze network performance, and maintain network security.
  • Manage large datasets, ensuring data integrity, performing data backups and recovery operations.
  • Implement and maintain security policies, manage user access controls, and monitor for security threats. 
  • Provide technical guidance to other computer operators, assisting with complex troubleshooting issues.
  • Plan and execute system upgrades, including hardware and software installations and migration to new environments.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Six (6) years of progressive experience in computer systems operations.; Five (5) years of practical experience in data entry and formatting via common productivity tools such as the Microsoft Office Suite. ***Note: Experience may be concurrent.
  • Strong understanding of computer hardware, software, and operating systems.
  • Ability to identify and resolve technical issues related to computer systems.
  • Knowledge of data processing operations and procedures.
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery procedures to prevent data loss.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to interact professionally with team members and users.
  • Ability to organize work and manage tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and ensure accuracy.

Required Security Clearance:

  • US Citizenship required.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
    • Active Interim Secret or final Secret clearance is preferred.
