SAIC is seeking experienced Systems Engineers to support the Space Development Agency (SDA) Tranche 3 Program Integration (T3PI) program in Chantilly, VA.
SAIC will be overseeing the Systems Engineering and Integration of the Tranche 3 constellation, which includes hundreds of satellites accomplishing multiple mission areas including missile warning, tracking and defense and tactical communications to warfighters. We will work with the SDA, end users, space vehicle contractors, and ground segment contractors to ensure the architecture, requirements, implementation, integration and testing are executed successfully. The Systems Engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develops enterprise-level architectures that meet warfighter and end user needs.
- Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of program requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software or engineering specifications.
- Works with space vehicle and ground segment contractors to ensure designs meet requirements and interfaces across segments and systems will function properly.
- Assists with planning and execution of system-level tests.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience. Relevant experience to be substituted in lieu of degree.
- Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI
- Experience developing and/or sustaining national security, no-fail mission systems including space and/or ground systems or space-to-ground integration
- Experience with one or more systems engineering areas associated with the development of space systems: architectures, requirements, interfaces, integration, testing and operations
- Excellent communication and teaming skills
Desired Education and Experience:
- Experienced with fast-paced development programs in the space domain
- A high degree of proficiency using one or more MBSE tools to include Cameo Systems Modeler and/ or DOORs
- Experience with space-based tactical communications; missile warning, tracking and defense; or custody of targets from space.
- Experience with a broad range of system types: custom developed HW/SW, COTS/GOTS HW/SW, and specialty engineering
- Experience in Agile methods for program management or software development
- Experience developing Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
