SAIC is seeking a Senior Cloud Cyber / DevOps Engineer to lead the design, security, and automation of cloud-based digital engineering environments supporting Department of Defense (DoD) missions on Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. This role blends advanced cloud infrastructure engineering, DevSecOps automation, and cybersecurity compliance to deliver resilient, secure, and scalable platforms. The ideal candidate will operate at the intersection of cloud architecture, cybersecurity engineering, and CI/CD automation, embedding security into every stage of the software and systems lifecycle. This position is Hybrid/Remote allowing the candidate to mostly work at home, while working on-site approximately once every six weeks. 

The Senior Cloud Cyber / DevOps Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to the following: 

• Design, deploy, and manage secure cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). 

• Administer and optimize AWS and/or Azure environments. 

• Engineer secure Kubernetes and container platforms. 

• Implement and manage cloud networking architectures. 

• Support hybrid and classified system environments. 

• Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitLab). 

• Integrate automated security testing, scanning, and compliance checks into pipelines. 

• Implement SBOM generation and software supply chain security controls. 

• Automate infrastructure and security workflows using Python, Bash, and PowerShell. 

• Support container security and artifact management. 

• Engineer systems compliant with NIST 800-53, RMF, CMMC, and DoD Cloud SRG. 

• Apply and maintain DISA STIG configurations. 

• Manage vulnerability scanning and remediation (ACAS, Nessus, SCA tools). 

• Support ATO packages, POA&Ms, and compliance documentation. 

• Conduct risk assessments and security architecture reviews. 

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize platform performance and security. 

• Support digital engineering and model-based systems environments. 

• Lead secure migrations between platforms and environments. 

• Mentor junior engineers and promote security-first engineering practices. 

• Collaborate with program, cybersecurity, and systems engineering teams. 

• Provide technical leadership for DevSecOps and cloud security initiatives. 

Qualifications

Required Education:

• Bachelor's degree and zero (0) years' experience; additional four (4) years' experience can be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Clearance: 

• Must possess an active Secret security clearance with the ability to maintain; US Citizenship required.

Required Skills: 

• 7+ years experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Cybersecurity, or DevSecOps. 
• 3+ years experience with Terraform in production environments. 
• 3+ years experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines. 
• Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure. 
• Strong Linux administration background. 
• Experience with container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes). 
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, PowerShell, and YAML. 
• Practical experience implementing security controls in cloud environments. 
• Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity standards and frameworks. 

Desired Skills or Required Certifications:

• Experience with Ansible and configuration management. 
• Classified systems administration experience. 
• Hands-on RMF and ATO lifecycle ownership. 
• Experience with: 
  • Trivy, Grype, Fortify, SonarQube, Syft 
  • SBOM and supply chain security 
  • Zero Trust architectures 
• Familiarity with MBSE and digital engineering platforms. 
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools in secure environments.
