Must be local to the NCR as this position requires the ability to go onsite to Quantico, VA as needed by the customer.

Make a difference for national security by joining a team of dedicated IT professionals who will sustain, modernize and transform the enterprise IT capabilities for the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA).  The National Security & Space Sector of SAIC is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer to support a transformational infrastructure program for DCSA.

 

SAIC is proud to be supporting DCSA in safeguarding our nation's information. DCSA is the designated oversight authority on the accreditation of classified facilities, information systems, and the insider threat program. This involves security oversight of more than 10,000 companies and approximately 13,000 facilities involved in classified work throughout the DoD and 31 Federal agencies.

 

Specifically, on the DCSA One IT program, SAIC will provide an enterprise IT solution that delivers highly secured and adaptable IT infrastructure, provides customer support, and cutting-edge technologies that support operations and advance the DCSA mission under a single IT environment (i.e., One IT).

Must be able to go onsite to Quantico as needed by the customer.

Job Description

Provides cyber network solution engineering and administration efforts to plan, design, configure, troubleshoot, implement, enhance, optimize and secure DCSA's infrastructure of non-virtual and virtual systems in enclaves and data centers, regional field offices, field offices, and the Amazon Web Service (AWS) GovCloud environments, as part of the overall strategic objective of the DCSA IT modernization and One IT initiatives to provide a flexible enterprise IT environment to support the DCSA mission IAW with DCSA and DoD policies and procedures and commonly utilized industry best practices. 

  • Supports translation of strategic goals, commitments, requirements, risks, and objectives into plans, tasks, and activities for solutions and alternatives, from a network perspective.
  • Researches, maintains, and applies expertise in emerging technologies, and industry developments, trends, best practices, and principles of network engineering.
  • Develops and designs load balancing and engineering capability assessments.
  • Provides and implements capacity-planning solutions.
  • Directs or performs integration and testing of all items to ensure security and operability before deployment.
  • Implements operational design standards and establishes appropriate interfaces that best fulfill interoperability and mission requirements, designing, recommending, and engineering configuration of all network and communication equipment, facilities, and services, specifically including router/switch configurations, Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, Regional Internet Access Points (RIAPs), Virtual Private Networks, gateway servers, and related services, in a manner to ensure most efficient flow of data and highest security, coordinating all solutions with Cyber Security Defense Operations.
  • Plans and oversees execution of network installations of system hardware and software upgrades.
  • Plans and executes backups and recovery operations.
  • Directs, executes, or supports compilation, implementation, maintenance and archiving of network records, documentation, and artifacts, such as specifications, topologies, diagrams, and policies; network blueprints and design documents; network data flow diagrams; Access Control Lists (ACLs); network management trend analysis reports; accreditations; network provisioned gear and change control documentation.
  • Provide inputs into the Activity Report.
  • Responsible for day-to-day network administrator tasks including installations, configurations, troubleshooting and documentation, monitoring end-user workstations, and maintaining networking equipment and services.
  • Responsible for day-to-day coordination and communications with stakeholders as required to ensure the seamless implementation of new or upgraded network devices and configurations.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

 It is required that the Senior Solutions Engineer have the following qualifications:

o   BA/BS with 9 to 13 years of experience.

o   5+ years of experience in architecting, deploying, and managing network environments.

o   Experience deploying, upgrading, and troubleshooting multivendor network equipment and solutions, including Cisco, Palo Alto, ForcePoint and CyberArk.

o   Ability and willingness to develop creative solutions to business problems and work well within a team environment.

o   Experience with Windows and Linux-based operating systems, and a working knowledge of web-based applications.

o   4 years of experience with network connectivity for physical and virtualized servers.

o   4 years of experience installing and configuring network equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, etc.

o   Ability to write documentation such as procedures, processes, and standard operating procedures.

o   Good knowledge of and the ability to perform DoD reporting.

o   Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

o   Must have good inter-team/cross-team communication and collaboration skills.

o   Good organizational and time management skills.

o   Top Secret Clearance.

o   Security+, CISSP, or equivalent.

 

Desired Qualifications 

o   MA/MS with 7 to 11 years of experience.

o   TS/SCI

o   Cisco CCNA or CCNP Certification preferred.

o   Understanding of Cloud technologies (Google Cloud Platform, Azure or AWS).

o   Experience with Identity Governance Products (SailPoint, Oracle, Saviynt etc.).

o   Knowledge of web services (REST/SOAP).

o   Familiarity with SCIM and knowledge of various API authentication standards.

o   Experience with Linux and Windows Operating Systems.

o   Assess integration opportunities from technical perspective and provide solutions.

o   Experience working in a Scrum environment.

o   Experience with Scrum tools.

o   Experience with performing KanBan updates.

 


Target salary range: $125,001 - $135,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
