Job Summary: SAIC is seeking an organized and motivated Electrical Engineer who will effectively support a fast-paced work environment with the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division in Middleton, RI. You will be part of a collaborative team of engineers and support technicians working to bring a variety of electrical designs from the early concept stage all the way through fabrication. SAIC is looking for someone to support the MK710 program here at the SAIC Middletown office. The job will entail a complex/detailed troubleshooting effort along with full redesign engineering effort.
Location: The work will be at both 28 Jacome Way, Middletown, RI, and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division Newport.
Work Schedules: Flexible work schedule options are also available. If desired, engineers may partake in SAIC's 9/80 schedule to have every other Friday off or a 4/10 schedule if desired.

More on the role: Our team is integral in developing present and future leading edge USN weapons systems capabilities. You will need broad engineering skillsets, well-developed work habits, and an eagerness and enthusiasm for solving engineering challenges. Your projects will include the design, documentation and testing of a wide array of electrical and electronic systems in automated test equipment design. The designer may be working with power electronics, power systems, control systems, CCA design, signal processing, light software development, mixed signal design, and cable design and construction.
Job Duties:
Design and test electronic systems for embedded underwater applications, custom data acquisition systems, and automated test hardware for land-based testing of naval systems.
Develop and execute test plans for new designs and document your results.
Design and document systems and circuits in Altium.
Work in an interdisciplinary collaborative environment with other groups of engineers, logisticians, technicians, and draftsman to ensure the design meets requirements.
Create specifications, requirements, schematics, bill of materials, mechanical drawings, and test plans.
Create and review well documented notes of design changes to maintain version control of drawings.
Troubleshoot both large scale systems and individual system components or a larger scale system
Interact with the customer to develop appropriate solutions to problems.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience in design engineering.
- Electronic design in the area of test equipment, power electronics, amplifiers, filtering, signal conditioning, and/or high-speed digital.
- Schematic entry and board layout using a schematic capture tool and layout tool.
- Experience with hands on prototyping skills soldering circuits, making cables, debugging circuits, and creating benchtop setups.
- Hands on lab experience using oscilloscopes, function generators, network analyzers, signal analyzers, DMM's, power supplies, etc.
- Ability to read and understand a large complex electrical and mechanical system along with their associated system level TDP.
- Hands on troubleshooting skills using test equipment to help isolate problems and a strong ability to generate solutions in a complex integrated system.
- Familiarity with System Engineering processes and events.
- Must be able to interact directly with customers to understand requirements, generate solutions, and report status.
- Must be self-directed in tasking and willing to undertake challenges outside the scope of everyday tasking and qualified
- .Microsoft Suite Experience (Office, Outlook, Teams, Visio, Sharepoint, ETC)
- Modeling circuits in a spice engine.
- Experience with a product life cycle management or configuration management tools like ARAS Innovator, Windchill, and SVN.
Clearance:
Must be able to initially obtain an Interim Secret Clearance and then obtain and hold an Active Secret Clearance for the duration of work on the contract.
