SAIC's Space & Intel Business Group, USG Mission and Information Technology Division, is seeking a Software Engineer to support Java development utilizing BMC Remedy API services. This position is in Chantilly, VA and requires an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
The supported Customer's BMC Remedy ticketing system fulfills service requests and incidents submitted by personnel regarding the Customer's mission systems and supported facilities and provides information to allow managers to make decisions regarding resources and risks. The work will be performed within a team environment in an already existing codebase and must integrate seamlessly with other Customer applications.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Communicate and collaborate across organizational boundaries, to include other contractor teams.
- Work with Customer staff and contractor personnel, as well as external stakeholders.
- Work with applications in the Customer's cloud or on-premise environments.
- Provide support for the implementation, designing and building of enhancements, and long-term maintenance of web capabilities for Remedy Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) services.
- Design and develop the application in a web environment.
- Analyze user needs and develop software solutions.
- Design or customize software for client use to optimize operational efficiency.
- Perform testing, debugging, and quality assurance of the Customer application.
- Play a major role in maintaining and implementing a modern, highly utilized customer portal as a mission enabling application used daily.
Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI with polygraph.
- Bachelor's and 14 years or more experience; Master's and 9 years or more experience.
- Demonstrated experience in the following:
- Developing web application front-ends with Java.
- JavaScript.
- Java Script Object Notion (JSON) for Application Program Interface (API) development.
- Markup languages such as JSON, CSS, and HTML.
- Strongly typed programming language concepts.
- Integrated Development Environment (IDE) software such as Eclipse.
- RESTful interfaces.
- Version control systems such as Git or SVN for development.
- Agile development methodologies and JIRA.
Desired skills
- Demonstrated experience in the following:

- Web applications using Java Spring.
- Customer's systems, services, and networks.
- Customer's authentication and authorization (A&A) process.
- Leveraging Apache Tomcat as a webserver.
- Upgrading and refining existing production applications (i.e., working with legacy code).
- Supporting enterprise level production systems.
- Interfacing against BMC Remedy API services.
- Developing and maintaining a web portal against a BMC Remedy instance.
