SAIC is hiring a Software Integration Engineer to work hands-on with developer and systems administrators to integrate our solutions and products for our government customer.  Our Software Engineers build, customize, document and integrate new software apps supporting the Air Force. The job also will include updating existing code and integrating improvements to user interfaces already in operation, as our team continues to improve our cloud-hosted DevSecOps implementation with increasing levels of unit test coverage, test automation, and CI/CD pipelines and frequent releases. 

Work is 100% on site now.  After a training period some work from home is possible however; this person will be most effective on site. 
 

Responsibilities:
• Work in a team environment to deliver technical design, implementations and documentation for integration projects associated with the application integrations. 
• Deliver high-quality software within estimated timelines derived from accurate and qualified work estimates and plans. 
•Meet with development teams and customers to understand business and technical requirements of these integration projects, document findings, to resolve issues. 
• Report progress, activities and status on projects. Liaise with service partners who are leveraged to deliver technical implementation in close collaboration with the integration team. 
• Maintain and develop knowledge of architecture/design technologies, integration and future industry trends. 
 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • 0-3+years or more experience of enterprise or software vendor development in Java, C++, PLSQL and shell scripting. 
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance
  • CompTIA Security + certification is required within 30 days of hire 
  •  Knowledge and proficiency in the following technical areas: Java, Web services stacks and technology (JMS, SAAJ, JAXP, etc.), XML technologies (schema, xpath, xslt), parsing, IBM MQ, RDBMS/SQL, Windows and Linux OS, shell scripting (bash, korn), Application Servers (JBoss, Tomcat and/or WebLogic) 
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for full stack software development life cycle; including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, monitoring and operations  
  •  Experience with development tools such as Eclipse, Toad or SQL Developer, GIT or SVN 
  •  Experience with development methodologies (formal and agile), procedures and technologies especially prototyping, continuous integration, component and services architectures, step-wise implementation and delivery, multiple environments and code-promotion  
  • Good communication skills: ability to present and articulate thoughts and ideas and ability to document work and design artifacts in diagrams 
  • Familiarity with utilizing a developer pipeline to deploy in an AWS cloud environment and tools such as Gradle, Artifactory, SonarCube, Fortify a plus. 

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
