SAIC is seeking an experienced Software Tester to support a project in VA. This role can be worked 100% remotely anywhere in the U.S. Candidates must be able to get a public trust clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with functional and development teams to identify, document, and execute test cases aligned to business and technical requirements
- Analyze requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to design test coverage
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain UI automated test scripts and frameworks using Playwright, with core skills in identifying stable web elements and building resilient automated tests for dynamic web interfaces
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain API test scripts to validate service functionality, integration, and data flows
- Report, track, and verify defects, and provide clear test documentation, metrics, and status reporting to support stakeholder visibility and decision-making
- Apply a strong understanding of test automation fundamentals, including how automated tests are triggered, executed, and used within CI/CD pipelines to support regression coverage and release quality
- Define and advance test engineering practices, testing standards, and consistent quality processes across scrum teams
- Demonstrate strong collaboration, share testing best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement across the team
Qualifications
- Bachelors in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field and 9+ years or more experience; Masters and 5+ years
- Candidates must be U.S. Citizens
- Candidates must have the ability to get a public trust clearance
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test scripts/frameworks for functional, regression, and integration testing experience
- Providing clear test documentation, metrics, and quality reports to stakeholders
Experience - Desired:
- Practical use and experience with testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Jira, Playwright, Azure DevOps (ADO), Micro Focus Application Lifecycle Management (ALM))
- Knowledge of programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript) is a plus
- Awareness of GitLab for infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with Agile and/or DevOps methodologies
- Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Lifecycle (STLC)
- Strong logic and analytical skills
- The candidate must have excellent communication skills – both written and oral
- Must be extremely detail-oriented and well organized
- Able to work independently or as a contributing team member
- Experience testing APIs and Web Services
- Ability to quickly understand business processes and translate them into technical requirements
