JOB DESCRIPTION: 

This is an exciting opportunity to provide high-visibility impact on an enduring and evolving Customer mission that requires a self-motivated, creative individual to serve as a Web Design/Graphics officer in a Front Office environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing web design and graphical products from idea conception to delivery in support of a directorate Front Office Communications Team.  The candidate will work closely with a dynamic and skilled team, along with senior government managers, to develop engaging and informative web and graphical products in multiple formats for a directorate-wide Customer audience.  Key responsibilities include: 

 

  • Helping to develop and distribute employee communications content via graphic design and web development that supports the Customer's communications strategy and reflects key messaging.
  • Building and managing the Customer's web presence to ensure that relevant, interactive, and current information is available to the directorate workforce.
  • Proactively engaging with teammates and stakeholders to understand communications requirements and content updates for the directorate's web presence.
  • Drafting and publishing graphic design content across a range of communication channels, including the Customer's website.
  • Perform outreach and requirements gathering with stakeholders across the directorate to ensure fresh content for the directorate website.  Consult with users and product owner to discover the customer journey, pain points, and user needs.
  • Design sites to follow web best practices, accessibility guidelines, and all branding and style requirements of the organization.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to obtain content and understand necessary revisions and enhancements to the site(s).
  • Provide Joomla development of websites, coordinating with stakeholders to obtain up-to-date content and make all necessary revisions and enhancements to the current site(s).
  • Provide support to the FO team for sending Edge messages and providing review for written communications products.
  • Work with FO staff to develop and deploy new modes of communication.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have active TS/SCI clearance with full-scope polygraph.
  • Bachelor's Degree and (14) years or more of related experience. Masters and (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and (9) years or more experience.
  • Adaptable work style and strong ability to collaborate seamlessly with Communications Team members.
  • Demonstrated expertise applying Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat) software to support customer graphic design needs.
  • Experience managing web content and strong knowledge of web design tools.
  • Demonstrated experience with MS Office, WordPress, Joomla, and willingness to learn additional software/platforms.
  • Successful experience working directly with customers on visualization and web design needs.
  • Ability to conceive fresh ideas for new content that establishes or supports the customer's communications needs.
  • Ability to brief and explain design strategy to customers, including senior leaders.
  • Familiarity with Tableau or PowerBI visualization software.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Strategic Communications efforts.
  • Understanding of publication design, management, and production.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, and attention to detail.
