SAIC is hiring a MyEducation (MyEd) System Administrator located in Pensacola, FL.

This position requires the ability to perform high-level, day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex operating systems, workstations and servers.
 
A System Administrator manages and maintains the infrastructure that powers operating systems (UNIX, Linux, and Windows) and networks. Responsibilities span various aspects, including installing and configuring hardware and software, managing user accounts and permissions, monitoring system performance, troubleshooting (Tier 1-3) issues, mobile devices, and implementing and ensuring compliance with applicable system security controls.


Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Implement IAVA security patches and ensure patch status is recorded in appropriate systems of record.
  • Optimize system operations and resource utilization and perform system capacity analysis and planning.
  • Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process.
  • Communicate and coordinate with the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) and Information System Owner (ISO) regarding system changes as part of the Change and Configuration Management Process.
  • Support the ISO by completing required milestones of Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M) as directed and coordinate completion status with the ISSO to reflect status within the Source System of Record for Security Authorizations.
  • Ensure IT Assets remain compliant with Identity & Access Control Management (ICAM) policy.
  • Applies knowledge and understanding of Trusted Thin Client, and enhanced VDI (e.g., remote GPU and memory scaling).
  • Possess a working knowledge and understanding of system administration interdependencies as part of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
  • Oversees the planning, installing, implementing, configuring, and maintaining of systems software and associated upgrades using sound engineering principles to ensure security is incorporated throughout software/computer system lifecycle.
  • Conducts hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
  • Reviews and acts upon Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) checklists and generating or updating applicable Authority to Operate (ATO) artifacts.
  • Perform work related to Security Configuration Compliance (Information Assurance Vulnerability Manager (IAVM/IAV Alert (*AVA)/IAV bulletins, STIG/SCAP)
     
     

Qualifications

Required Experience, Certification, and Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science, from an ABET accredited or NCAE-C designated institution

  •  A+, CND, Network+, Cloud+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+, SSCP, Security X/CASP, CCNP Security, CCSP, FITSP-O, or GFACT 
     - or  -

Required skills:

  • System administration experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 and Windows 10/11.
  • Experience or practical knowledge in maintaining Authority to Operate (ATO).
  • Experience or practical knowledge in implementing Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) security configurations.
  • SQL scripting, Java, Windows Server, Linux, Oracle, IIS, Tomcat, data backups, load balancing.
  • Proficiency in developing and executing SQL queries to troubleshoot and resolve issues, update data as needed.
  • Experienced with administration of Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS).
  • Practical knowledge in SharePoint administration.

Clearance required:

  • Must be a US Citizen. Must have an Interim Secret security clearance to start. SAIC to sponsor

Desired skills:

  • Experience with administering Active Directory Domain Services.
  • Experience with CAC/Smart Card authentication solutions.
  • Knowledge of Windows Servers configuration and management.
