SAIC has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer to work on an exciting program in Chantilly! The successful candidate will be a proactive, forward-leaning self-starter able to work in a fast-paced organization spread across diverse technical areas. The successful candidate will being a technical background and be able to convey technical information to non-technical people. Someone with a passion for mission support who has attention to detail and can work with multiple project leads to understand and communicate program information will thrive in this environment. This position directly supports the leadership of a key customer organization charged with executing an exciting but challenging mission. To do this, the successful candidate must quickly learn about the mission. Existing reporting and documentation needs, and then help the customer develop and implement efficient business processes. Key responsibilities will include requirements document generation, interface definition, technical coordination between various contractor and government teams, and providing expert advice to an experienced and established team. These processes enable accurate and complete capture of impact metrics in a repository and support timely and meaningful presentation of information to senior manager.
Qualifications
- Must currently hold an Active TS/SCI and Poly
- BS Degree in a relevant technical field such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or fields applicable to telecommunications technology
- Minimum of 14 years of work experience in technical project management
- Understanding of how collection systems work
- Demonstrated ability to create and track separate project schedules, actions, and milestones and integrate them to an executive level
- Proficiency with MS Office suite to include Project, Excel, Work and Power Point is needed to perform day-to-day tasks
- Ability to work with multiple project leads to help them develop documentation, then consolidate the information across projects to form an integrated picture of the entire portfolio of programs
Desired Qualifications:
- Advanced Degree in relevant technical fields such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or fields applicable to telecommunications technology and/or Project Management Professional Certification
- Understanding of how various collection systems work and collection processes
- Experience developing/executing programs with significant aspects across various government entities
- Familiarity with space systems and technology
