Overview:

SAIC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the US Space Force Portfolio Acquisition Executive (PAE) for Space-Based Sensing and targeting (SBST).  This is a Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support position to assist in defining the future SBST PAE Office.  The candidate will support and help deliver persistent space-based battlespace awareness for terrestrial, maritime, and air domains to enable joint all-domain military operations and to close long-rang kill chains.  They will also help deliver environmental monitoring capabilities.  Qualified candidates must possess demonstrated experience with the Pentagon, Space Systems Command (SSC), National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) and Space Development Agency (SDA) and be able to provide technical and programmatic insight on the wide variety of missions supported by this office. The successful candidate will work both independently and, in a team-based environment. This position is in Chantilly, VA and requires an active TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph 

Key duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

·       Work in an interactive team environment with Government customer leads and other subject matter experts to directly support the PAE SBST Office

·       Engage with various organizations, gaining insights into their missions, functions, and organization to help establish the PAE SBST Office

·       Participate in technical space IPTs and working groups providing recommendations to improve space system integration, performance, and ensure PAE SBST office equities are protected.

·       Provide technical guidance and integration of space systems, including programs what is currently SFPEO-Space Sensing, SPPEO-Combat Power, SFPEO-Space Development Agency, and the Ground Moving Target Indicator Program executed by the NRO

·       Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document space program and policy requirements

·       Understand and have the ability to document the compatibility and interoperability between different systems and technologies

·       Expect Travel within the U.S. approximately 10% of the time

Qualifications

Required Education, Certifications and Qualifications:

·       B.S. in Engineering (preferred); or Science, Space related field and eighteen (18) years or more of related experience; Masters and sixteen (16) years or more of experience; PhD or JD and thirteen (13) years or more experience

·       Must be a US Citizen with active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph

·       Working knowledge of IC principles, procedures, including personnel, program and financial management

·       Demonstrated on-the-job experience providing direct support to Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) Senior Leaders within the past 2 years

·       Demonstrated on-the-job experience closely coordinating with stakeholders of various ranks/grades across the NRO, SSC, SDA or Pentagon within the past 2 years

·       Demonstrated on-the-job experience establishing and maintaining strong, effective communication and working relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders within the past 2 years

·       Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to quickly and appropriately adjust within a fast-paced work environment

·       Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and various SE, PM tools

·       Ability to establish trust-relationships as well as contribute to highly functioning, multi-faceted teams

·       Experience leading high performance technical teams and demonstrated ability to simultaneously perform multiple tasks

·       Understanding of the current SBST PAE portfolio

·       Demonstrated ability to conduct analysis and evaluations - making recommendations and providing professional advice and assistance to include preparing reports and presentation briefings

·       Ability to apply technical expertise and summarize information/findings for presentation to Government leadership

·       Skilled/comfortable working in high-tempo environment, able to be flexible and to adjust to dynamic technical guidance
