SAIC is seeking rising college juniors or seniors to join the Ground-Based Radar Maintenance and Sustainment Services (GMASS) for the summer of 2026, GMASS has three Systems Engineering internship positions available for Systems Engineering, Mission Engineering, and a Tools Engineering roles. These interns will be performing systems support, modeling and simulation, design, and sustainment activities on a government radar system. All of the positions under this job requisition will be in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Roles and responsibilities potentially include:
· Work side-by-side with subject matter experts to document and update legacy hardware and software systems
· Perform Systems Engineering activities related to Mission Engineering, which may include requirements definition, system analysis and design, and systems integration
· Conducts functional and system performance studies to translate customer requirements into specifications
· Review and assess requirements, diagrams, and documents
· Develop modeling and simulation using MATLAB and STK
Areas of Technical Interest:
· Interest or knowledge of systems principal architecture
· Knowledge of operating systems, MATLAB, Python, or C/C++.
· Networking tcp/ip, firewalls
· Ability to troubleshoot anomalies and work resolution with a multidisciplinary team
· Understanding of Cloud computing understanding (AWS, Azure, etc)
Qualifications
· Pursuit of BS in a STEM related degree field such as Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science
· Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams
· Hands-on experience in analyzing time series data.
· **Must be willing and able to obtain a Secret security clearance NOTE: Federal law requires US citizenship to obtain a clearance
Target salary range: Up to $40,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
