SAIC is seeking a Technical Manager to support the Navy's LCAC ACV program at NSWC PCD.
Work will be performed onsite 5 days a week and is located in Panama City Beach, FL.
The Technical Manager will directly supervise individual contributors (skilled technicians, administrative support) and/or entry-level professionals (accountants, entry-level engineers)
Manages the activities and staff in an assembly function, which may include but is not limited to a wide variety of electronic, electro-mechanical, mechanical or measurement product assembly operations on product components, assemblies or sub-assemblies.
Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering, cable harnessing and welding/fitting on assembly units.
Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications.
May also set up and operate a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exact tolerances and dimensions.
Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications; determines sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup; uses a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments; makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds; measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining; fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment and determines material, parts, and equipment required.
Some machines may be numerically controlled.
May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate's degree in Electronics Technology, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or relevant military technical training program (e.g., Navy Electronics Technician, Marine Corps Communications Electronics Technician) is essential to provide a solid understanding of electronics theory, troubleshooting methodologies, and network fundamentals required for complex system maintenance and repair.
8 years of experience in electronics troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of complex electronic and IT systems, with at least 3 years specifically on naval C4N (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Networks) systems and LCAC platform systems
Demonstrated proficiency with using multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and other advanced electronic test equipment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex electronic and network issues in a timely manner
Experience with US Navy Groom procedures and Technical Assists is desired
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
Must have an acitve Secret clearance
