SAIC is seeking a motivated and ambitious Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Test Engineer to join the Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering and Integration Directorate (S3I) Joint Technology Center – Systems Integration Lab (JSIL) Tech Center in Huntsville, AL.  The UAS Test Engineer will perform system level installation, configuration, test, and analysis of UAS software systems and associated software subsystems.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Work with software developers, network engineers, and systems engineers to test commercial and government software applications hosted on custom Operating Systems.
• Work within an agile scrum development model testing full system installation images on a biweekly basis.
• Troubleshoot deployment issues on Linux and Windows operating systems including dependency issues, version compatibility, and installation bugs.
• Use scripting languages to develop automated software applications tests when applicable.
• Test the creation and configuration of Virtual Machines as part of a global UAS system installation.
• Develop engineering technical material including but not limited to System Test Procedures, System Test Reports, Installation Guides, and Interface Control Documents.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 

• A Bachelors and two (2) years of experience; four (4) years of experience are accepted in lieu of a degree.

Required Clearance:

• An Interim Secret Clearance must be obtained prior to employment; a Secret Security Clearance must be obtained to maintain employment.

Required Skills:

• Experience conducting end-to-end software and system level development and testing.
• Experience with systems integration, network administration, or system administration.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
• Experience with general Internet and network troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of general computing system architectures and virtual machines.
• Experience performing software installation and configuration.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Security+ SE (or other IAT II base certificate).

Desired Skills: 

• An Operating System certifications (e.g. Linux+ or Windows).
• Experience writing technical documentation.
• Experience with Atlassian workflow management software.
• Experience creating automated test systems.
