Location:  Saint Petersburg, FL (SalonCentric National Operations Center)

 JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Social Media & Advocacy will develop and lead SalonCentric's owned social media strategy, aligning with business objectives and growing brand love. This role requires a data-driven, strategic thinker with a proven track record of success in social media marketing, influencer marketing, and team leadership.  This is a constantly evolving role by nature, that requires agility, driving prioritization, change management, and most importantly a customer-first mindset.

The Director of Social Media & Advocacy will be accountable to drive measurable impact across four key functions: Engagement & Community, Advocacy, Influencer & Creator Partnerships, Platform Management, and Community Management, from annual strategic planning and campaign execution to performance analysis and people development. This role will collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to integrate social media into broader business strategies and ensure its effectiveness in achieving goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Owned Social Media Strategy & Vision:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with business priorities and anchored to measurable KPI's.
    • Oversee team execution of social media campaigns across engagement, advocacy and community-building initiatives. 
    • Identify and secure the resources and tools needed to enable strategic priorities. 
    • Codify social media best practices and communicate across the organization.

 

  • Team Leadership & Executional Excellence:
    • Lead, manage, and mentor the social media team across four key functions.
    • Optimize ways of working, roles & responsibilities, and processes to maximize team empowerment and enablement.
    • Foster a collaborative, high-performing, and accountability-driven team culture.

 

 

 

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence:
    • Collaborate with internal cross-functional leads and direct external agencies to integrate social media into broader strategies.
    • Craft data-driven thought leadership and influence internal and external stakeholders to secure buy-in for and validation of social media initiatives.
    • Represent the brand at industry and brand events.

 

  • Performance Analysis & Strategic Insights:
    • Own all social media performance data, build standardized reporting, and provide timebound strategic recommendations.
    • Develop and implement measurement frameworks to track KPI's for SalonCentric and brand initiatives.

 

  • Budget Planning & Resource Allocation:
    • Develop and manage the social media budget.
    • Oversee agency relationships and negotiate contracts.

 

EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree requirement: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Years of experience required: 8-10 years of experience in social media or influencer marketing.
  • Must be able to remain stationary or sit for the majority of the scheduled day.
  • Able to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment throughout the day.
  • Ability to use normal office equipment regularly (computer, printer, etc.).
  • Ability to lift 10 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.

 

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, social media management platforms, and analytics tools.

Proven track record of developing and leading successful social media strategies and teams.

Deep understanding of social media platforms, emerging trends, and best practices.

Experience managing budgets and leading teams.

Preferred Qualifications: 

Social Media Marketing or Influencer Marketing certifications. Excellent communication, project management, and time management skills.
