A Day in the Life

As an Accounting Technician for Cash to Accounting, you will be a cornerstone of our Finance team in Laval, reporting to the Accounting Manager. You will play a critical role in upholding the financial integrity of our retail and e-commerce channels by ensuring all cash transactions are accurately tracked and reconciled.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Manage Cash Application: Handle the daily closing and application of cash for our stores and e-commerce operations.
  • Perform Bank Reconciliations: Compare daily bank statements with the General Ledger to identify and resolve discrepancies swiftly.
  • Investigate and Resolve: Partner with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Sales teams to research and resolve any unmatched items.
  • Ensure Compliance: Maintain organized digital records of all reconciliations and supporting documents to guarantee a clear audit trail.

We Are Looking For

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical individual with a proactive mindset. You are a great match if you have:

  • A degree or diploma in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in an accounting role with a solid understanding of reconciliation processes.
  • Financial Acumen: You have strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and can interpret financial data to ensure accuracy.
  • Problem-Solving: You can effectively investigate discrepancies and collaborate across departments to find solutions.
  • Attention to Detail: You are meticulous and committed to maintaining precise and organized financial records.
  • Efficiency: You can manage daily tasks in a timely manner to meet reporting deadlines.
  • Communication: Fluency in both English and French is required as the scope for this role is across Canada.
