What You'll Be Doing:
- Support Risk Managers with insurance marketing, placement, and renewal processes
- Analyze exposure and loss data to identify changes in the enterprise's risk profile
- Identify and assess organizational practices that may pose risks or potential losses to the enterprise
- Assist in developing and administering programs to assess, approve, and document contractor risks
- Aggregate data from various sources to prepare comprehensive reports and summaries for Risk Managers
- Issue certificates of insurance and other insurance forms to support enterprise operations, customers, and joint ventures
- Administer insurance reporting to customers, third-party compliance agencies, and state/provincial government regulators
- Report data and ensure timely payments for OCIP and monopolistic state/province workers' compensation accounts
- Ensure accurate categorization of job positions by NCCI class codes
- Assist with day-to-day operations of the Risk Department, including responding to internal and external customers via phone and email, paying/submitting bills, and developing processes to maximize team efficiency
Requirements to Be Successful in This Position:
- In-depth understanding of commercial insurance, insurance markets, and policy forms
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel; proficiency in common business software and the ability to quickly learn additional analysis programs
- Strong professional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to analyze and interpret information to make well-reasoned decisions
- Willingness to collaborate with the organization in developing and utilizing proactive risk management policies and procedures
- Understanding of risk control methods
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Exceptional attention to detail in all tasks
- Self-motivated, with the capability to work and learn both autonomously and as part of a team
Preferred/Not Required Skills:
- Experience with foreign insurance placement or requirements
- Experience in commercial trucking
- Experience with contractual risk transfer
- Mergers & acquisitions (M&A) experience
- Captive insurance management experience
- Claims adjusting experience
- Ability to speak Spanish or French
Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Risk Management, Insurance, Finance, or a related field. Equivalent full-time commercial insurance or risk management experience may be substituted for a degree on a year-for-year basis.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in commercial insurance or risk management
