These are just a few of the benefits you can expect from working with Savage: Pay $23.50 per hour We provide Uniforms & PPE $150 steel-toe boot allowance Excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, profit sharing and paid holidays Here is what you will be doing: Spotting cars on the correct track, move empty cars, and build the outbound train Classification of inbound train Unloading of materials consisting of a variety of bulk liquid and dry products Follow operating procedures and policies Operate or learn to operate railcar loading systems and equipment perform work safely and productively Enforces safety policies and procedures with other employees and visitors Perform general maintenance on equipment Assist with other duties within the facility (general maintenance, landscape upkeep and painting) Interact with customers, railroad crews, other Team Members, and visitors Requirements of a successful Rail Switchman: Two years of rail switching preferred Read, write, and understand English Basic math skills Computer skills (light data entry) Capable to learn how to operate and maintain railcar/trans loading equipment (e.g., Hoses, portable conveyors, transfer pumps, portable stair systems, small to medium sized equipment, etc.) Here are some of the physical requirements for this role: Climb up and down rail cars/ladders safely Work outside in ALL weather conditions (snow, rain, sub-freezing temps) Willing to work with liquid hazardous and dry bulk materials Lift up to (50) pounds
