Inventory Specialists are responsible for moving materials, processing transactions in the EAM system, and performing housekeeping activities.

Essential Duties:

  • Servicing facility storeroom requests
  • Performing part searching and inventory walkdown activities
  • Documenting or scanning part checkouts
  • Performing receiving activities (opening boxes, checking packing slips, noting discrepancies, etc)
  • Inspecting incoming materials
  • Stocking inventories (storeroom returns, receipts and new items)
  • Organizing inventory
  • Locating inventory
  • Labeling (identifying) inventory and storage locations
  • Managing outgoing shipments (supplier returns and repairable spares)
  • Performing picking, kitting and staging activities
  • Performing cycle counts
  • Performing database-storeroom reconciliation activities
  • Performing issuing and receiving system updates
  • Cleaning
  • Delivering parts to Maintenance delivery zones
  • Overseeing storeroom cosmetic improvements
  • Preparing materials for maintenance-related equipment shutdowns
  • Maintaining free-issue items
  • Attending safety meetings
  • Maintaining stock rotation
  • Rearranging storeroom parts to maintain storage efficiency
  • Processing material returns to storeroom
  • Providing basic storeroom security
  • Maintaining target service levels
  • Operating barcode scanner and software

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to follow directions
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Must be able to speak, read, and comprehend English to ensure understanding of safety instructions, work procedures, policies, and communications essential to job performance

  • Previous experience working in manufacturing a plus

  • Previous experience with cycle counting and storeroom security systems and equipment

  • Ability to be forklift certified

  • Experience with Computer systems (MS, EAM) and barcode systems

  • Flexible work schedule and the ability to work overtime and weekends.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50+ pounds

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma preferred
