Ensure safe and timely preventive and breakdown maintenance to support production continuity and hygiene standards; success is measured by on-time PM completion, quick breakdown response, accurate maintenance records, and reduced downtime in assigned areas.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Specific Responsibility:
- Perform daily preventive and breakdown maintenance for main and auxiliary equipment in the assigned areas and record work completion as per department practice.
- Execute skilled repair activities, complete machine lubrication as per schedule, and coordinate collection of lubricants/spares from Stores when required.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete repair, preventive maintenance, and breakdown maintenance jobs as per maintenance plan/instructions from Sr. Associate/Associate/Team Advisor (Maintenance) and report work completion.
- Respond to maintenance calls promptly to maximize machine availability and minimize downtime.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) while performing maintenance activities.
- Maintain good workmanship to minimize wastage, rework, and repeat breakdowns.
- Follow all safety precautions, wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as applicable, and maintain required hygiene practices for food production areas.
- Identify and stop leakages immediately when observed or reported and escalate if isolation/production stoppage is required.
- Comply with management policies and instructions and maintain discipline and punctuality as per shift schedule.
- Maintain high-speed machines such as separators, Bactofuge, decanters, high-pressure pumps, mills, fans, and blowers as assigned.
- Maintain packaging machines and allied equipment as assigned.
- Comply with ISO and HACCP requirements and participate in audits, documentation, and corrective actions as assigned.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
- Diploma Mechanical/ ITI (Fitter/ Welder)
- 5 to 10 years of professional experience in same field
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems (gearboxes, bearings, pumps, conveyors), Basic knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems (motors, sensors, panels),
- Ability to read and interpret machine drawings, manuals, and lubrication charts, Hands-on experience with preventive and breakdown maintenance practices
- Knowledge of industrial lubricants, grades, and correct application methods, Understanding of lubrication schedules, contamination control, and safe handling
- Good communication skills for shift handovers and coordination
- Ability to work independently and in shift-based environments
- Strong sense of responsibility, discipline, and attention to detail
